What a lovely start to the day, I decided to get out of the house early and walk into Newbury which is about 3 miles from where I live. I walked alongside the Kennet and Avon canal which was full of beautiful bird song, some of the birds I heard were Wren, Sage Warbler, Chiffchaff. I heard a Water Vole drop into the water but didn't see it this time. The reflections of the trees and wild flowers were stunning,at one point I thought something was watching me and when I turned around there was a Deer watching me in field, it was some way off but it still saw me. On the way I counted 9 pill-boxes that were built when world war 2 was on, they were built on the waterways of the UK in case of invasion. Today this day they still guard the waterways.
